Trans Am Worldwide, a custom muscle car customizer, has created another modern take on a classic design, this time in 70/SS form. With four round headlights and a large square grille, the legendary 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS design is reborn. The side design is very similar to the original muscle car, with prominently bulging fenders following the prominent contour.
The trunk has been redesigned at the rear to curve down and back into the body-colored bumper, while small taillights complete the image. According to the drawing, the company intends to sell this model with fake chrome front and rear bumpers, not the same body color bumper as the launch model.
The Chevrolet Chevelle-inspired Trans Am Worldwide 70/SS is available with a variety of engines, starting with the base 6.2-liter LT1 V8 delivering 450 hp. The Magnuson turbocharged 396 V8 is available as an upgrade, but the real star of the show here is the brand’s own LS6/X 454 V8, which has been tweaked to make 1,500 hp.
Only the top 25 trims will be produced, so cash out early if you want. All engine options will drive the rear wheels through a manual or automatic transmission (yes, even the 1,500-horsepower option). The interior of the 70/SS is also slightly changed from the original Camaro, with the same color trim and steering wheel from the C7 Corvette. The sun can be appreciated while paddling in this mechanical beast thanks to a retractable convertible roof.
