The T.50 supercar by Gordon Murray Automotive is finally in production after being first unveiled two and a half years ago. The production of the car is done at GMA’s facility in Dunsfold, UK near the “Top Gear” Test Track. Only 100 of the T.50 will be built and all build slots are sold out, along with the 25 slots for the track-focused T.50s Niki Lauda. The T.33 supercar has already been revealed as a follow-up and all 100 build slots are already taken.
To celebrate the start of production, Gordon Murray, the car’s designer and the founder of GMA’s Gordon Murray Group parent company, signed the carbon-fiber monocoque chassis used for the first build. The T.50 has a curb weight of 2,174 pounds, which is two-thirds of the weight of rival supercars. The car can seat three people and still has some luggage space. Powering the T.50 is a Cosworth-developed 3.9-liter V-12 engine with a 12,100-rpm redline and a peak output of 654 hp and 344 lb-ft of torque.
To support its customers, GMA plans to create service centers and smaller service support centers around the world. There are already five service centers in the UK, Japan, Abu Dhabi, and the US, with one each on the East and West coasts. Service support centers are planned for Australia, Bahrain, China, Germany, Singapore, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and six US states.
