Audi has been caught testing a prototype for a redesigned Q5.

Set to launch in 2024 as the 2025 model of the year, the new third-generation Q5 will be Audi’s last model with an internal combustion engine, as the automaker has confirmed that only Electric vehicles will be on the market after 2026.

The new Q5 has been spotted testing alongside the redesigned A4 that we’ll see launched a year earlier. Both vehicles are expected to use an updated version of the Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo platform found in the current Q5 and A4, meaning longitudinal engine mounting and standard front-wheel drive .

The new Q5 looks to have a much more impressive look than the current generation, which has a slightly conservative style. However, the general size looks the same. The resulting design will be similar to the Q5 E-Tron that has just been launched in China.
