A New Vision For The Ford Mustang ShelƄy GT500

Ford’s iconic pony car, the Mustang, has been a fan favorite for over 50 years. With the release of each new generation, enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of the top-tier GT500 model. However, the GT500 was recently absent from Ford’s lineup as the company shifted their focus to upgrading the new seventh-generation S650 model of the Mustang. But, according to a recent report, the GT500 could make a comeback in 2025, and the auto world has been buzzing with speculation about what the new iteration will offer.

Enter Hycade, a digital artist who has gained a significant following in the automotive community for his stunning digital renders of fantasy cars. Hycade’s latest YouTube video showcases his vision for the “2024 Ford Mustang ShelƄy GT500,” and it’s simply breathtaking. The most notable aspect of this render is the angular form of the body based on the S650 Mustang. Hycade has opted for a distraction-free, all-black vehicle, free of racing stripes, and the sharp angles give it a futuristic appearance.

The design is reminiscent of a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ from certain angles, with a new body kit that sits low to the ground, and above that, an enormous hood scoop. The GT500 is much wider than its predecessor, with massive fenders and added side vents. On the back, there’s an oversized wing spoiler similar to the C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

So far, it’s unclear what type of engine and power the next GT500 will have. But, given that the 2024 Ford Mustang models have a bump in horsepower over the S550 generation, it’s likely that a new Shelby GT500 will follow suit. Perhaps, Shelby will aim to match the Hennessey Venom 1200 Mustang’s power, which boasts over 1,200 hp.

The Shelby Mustang has an illustrious history, and it’s quite possibly the most iconic of muscle cars. It’s been with us in various forms since the 1960s, but for many, the third-generation Shelby GT500 is the pinnacle of this high-performance variant of the Mustang. The latest GT500 came packed with a supercharged Ford 5.2-liter V8 Predator engine that offered 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque as stock, making it one of the premium muscle cars of the modern era.

As Ford continues to develop the new S650 model of the Mustang, enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of the GT500. Hycade’s new concept design showcases a potential direction for the next iteration of the top-tier model, and it’s an exciting prospect for Mustang fans. Whether or not the actual design will follow Hycade’s vision remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – the future of the Mustang is looking brighter than ever.
