Ringbrothers’ latest Camaro build, known as Strode, was unveiled this week at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. This stunning creation pays homage to the iconic 1969 Chevrolet Camaro while incorporating modern design and performance elements. With over 6,500 hours of meticulous craftsmanship invested in its construction, Strode is a testament to Ringbrothers’ commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive innovation.
A Unique Design with a Modern Chassis
To create Strode, Ringbrothers didn’t simply replicate the original 1969 Camaro. Instead, they embarked on a comprehensive rebuild, utilizing a modern chassis that remains undisclosed. The result is a car that shares only two parts with its predecessor, making it a truly unique and distinctive vehicle.
Wider and More Aggressive
To accommodate the new chassis, the Strode design had to be widened by five inches. This wider stance not only enhances the car’s presence but also provides additional stability on the road. The rocker panels have been lowered, the roof features a recess, and the hood has been elongated and reshaped, adding to its aggressive look. The fenders, with their intricately designed cutouts for vents and body accents, further contribute to the car’s captivating aesthetic. Finally, the entire exterior is coated in BASF Glasurit Ghost White paint, lending a sleek and timeless finish.
Carbon Fiber Masterpiece
To achieve the desired appearance, Ringbrothers employed advanced manufacturing techniques. They scanned the original 1969 Camaro body and digitally modified it before producing it in carbon fiber. This lightweight and durable material not only enhances the car’s performance but also allows for intricate design details. Custom 3D-printed and billet-machined parts were also incorporated, adding to the car’s overall refinement.
Unleashing the Power
Under the hood of Strode lies a Wegner Motorsports LS3 V-8 engine. This powerplant has been finely tuned to deliver a jaw-dropping 1,010 horsepower, thanks in part to a Whipple supercharger. Hand-built headers and Flowmaster mufflers further enhance the engine’s performance and create an exhilarating soundtrack. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a reworked Bowler Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission and a John’s Industries 9.0-inch rear end. The independent suspension, a Roadster Shop Fast Track design with QA1 MOD Series coil-overs, ensures optimal handling and responsiveness. Strode rides on custom HRE Wheels known as the Ringbrothers G-Code Edition, while stopping power is provided by a set of Baer brakes.
Luxurious and Modern Interior
Step inside Strode, and you’ll find a meticulously crafted interior that seamlessly combines modern features with classic style. The cabin features trim by Upholstery Unlimited, ensuring the utmost in comfort and quality. Modern amenities include Dakota Digital gauges, JL Audio sound system, and a Vintage Air Gen IV climate control system, making every drive a pleasurable experience. The rear seats have been removed to make way for a custom roll cage, further enhancing the car’s performance-oriented nature.
Showcasing Ringbrothers’ Capabilities
Mike Ring, co-owner of Ringbrothers, expressed his excitement about Strode, stating, “We wanted to push the limits of what we can do and showcase our capabilities with Strode. It is a radical rethink of the original Chevy Camaro, expanding its dimensions and levels of performance.” Indeed, Strode represents the culmination of Ringbrothers’ expertise and passion for automotive excellence.
The SEMA show runs until Nov. 4 in Las Vegas and has three additional Ringbrothers creations on display. These are based on a 1948 Chevrolet pickup truck, a 1969 Ford Mustang, and a 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer.
